Boy oh Boy

{like father like son}

When he's not busy trying to be just like me {here},
the Bean is definitely becoming more and more Daniel-esque.

I wouldn't want it any other way.
as long as he doesn't do the whole Daniel-esque snoring thing too.

Date Nights

dinner {here}/grand chapiteau {here}

As much as we love ooohing and ahhing over Baby Bean's every move and breath,
we realize the importance of doing some moving and breathing of our own.

Here's where the weekly date night enters in.

Sometimes it's a movie. or dinner. or drinks. or having fifty insect-costumed Cirque du Soleil performers literally blow your mind.

Thursday evening, I ooohed-ahhhed-gasped-clapped-my-hands-like-a-giddy-schoolboy throughout the entire 2 hour show.

I also whispered to Daniel {throughout the entire 2 hour show}, "I can't wait to bring Josiah to things like this."

classic mama talk moment right there.

I didn't mean like bring him to date night "this".
I mean bring him to cool general every day life "this's",
so he can clap his hands like a giddy schoolboy.

'Cause date night is for me and the hubs.
and red skinny jeans.

P.S. and my new favorite headbands {here}

Whim Wham Weekend #30

{girls' night. boys' night. a comparison}

Even though I grew up with three older brothers, spiderman comic books, super soaker wars, and matchbox cars a'plenty,

a girly girl inherently lies within me.

a weekend of shirley temples, brunch, prosecco, chocolate, sparkles, pearls, and heels
speaks to me.

It's a breath of fresh air.

Then, back home to my boys.
Kick the fashion over comfort off my feet,
and pull out a leftover portion of dessert that I stashed in my clutch, for Daniel.

Maybe light a candle or two.
Hints of a boys' night point toward stinky feet and watching t.v. in their underwear.
or whatever it is that boys do.

Smells like no place else I'd rather be.

Painting the Town Red

First of all, can I focus the attention towards the shoes I wore last night.
For 7 hours straight.
No ankles were harmed in the making of this photo {like last time}
Let me tell you, stairs and 6 ft. of pure awkward human being...never ends well.

Also, I'd like to take this moment to publicly acknowledge the fact that, yes, my legs are almost the exact shade of "nude" as my wedges.

Apologies to the innocent bystanders {here} and {here}
for blinding you throughout the evening with them.

Bloggers Meet-Up

I can attend one of these shnazzy shin-digs.

{nanny-working and vacation-doing and baby-having "excused" me out of the past several}

Now I make my own schedule,
here in town,
bump free.

I'm ready for that cocktail.

Can't wait to meet all of my fellow PDX blogging babes!

My Cup Runneth Over

white chocolate mochas. caramel macchiatos. vanilla lattes. oh my.

My wallet currently has about four Starbucks gift cards crammed inside.
Varying in amounts from 9 dollars to 19 cents.

And because I'm a brainwashed American consumer under the spell of that green and white mermaid-siren,
I will end up using every single plastic penny.

Last time we scurried to the 'bucks drive-thru,
we were touched by an angel driving a Ford Bronco.

If the words,
"they already paid for your drinks"
isn't heaven sent,
then I don't know what is.

Perhaps it was the sunshine
a random act of kindness
Daniel and I looked like we really needed a caffeine fix that morning...

I jokingly lamented that we should've ordered some breakfast sandwiches too.
and one of those cake pop things that I can never justify buying.

Seriously though,
the Ford Bronco Angel could've paid for an extra sugar packet
and my day would be made,

from a little sneak peek of good in the world.

Whim Wham Weekend #29

dinner-movie date {here}/rwandan coffee {here}/maybe kinda sorta getting somewhat of a tan/happy easter

Back in 2011 B.B. (Before Baby), you'd usually find Daniel and I sleeping in on a typical Saturday or Sunday here and there.
Frequent on the here and there.

We're hoping to be back into the warm embrace of the snooze button,
sometime around 2030 or so.

As for now, we have our baby "rooster" bean.
this alarm can begin squawking anywhere between the hours of 6 and 8.

Needless to say,
our 1st Easter morning as a family of 3, began bright and early.

And of course,
we had to color-coordinate.

after a quick trip through the Starbucks drive-thu.

Whim Wham Weekend #28

saturday brunch with the boys {here}
sunday brunch with the girls {here}
{this} peppy new nail polish

breakfasty-lunch meals. after-stuffing-ourselves-silly-afternoon naps (or in Baby Bean's case: a-while-the-parents'-pig-out-nap). pretty little things.

I think I've officially discovered the perfect trifecta of the quintessential weekend formula.

and those pretty little things:
neon scarf. essie polish. pouty pink lipstick. pastel colored tumblers. champagne.
arrived in the mailbox as a birthday treat,
from one of my blog bests {Sabrina}.

I rhetorically-questioned the universe with a,
"how can this weekend possibly get any better?"

Throw in a pair of glittery shoes delivered to me from a Vegas boutique...mysteriously. paid for. signed sealed and delivered.

I'm not complaining.

but seriously, who sent the shoes?
